🎨 Candy Corn Suncatchers
Craft Concept:
Create a glowing candy corn–shaped suncatcher using tissue paper and clear contact paper! A fun way to celebrate fall and explore colors and light.
🧰 Materials Needed:
- Yellow, orange, and white tissue paper (cut into 1-inch squares)
- Clear contact paper or laminating sheets
- Scissors
- Black construction paper or cardstock
- Pencil or white crayon
- Tape or glue stick
- Optional: string or suction cups for hanging
🛠 Instructions:
- Draw a Candy Corn Outline
On the black construction paper, draw a large candy corn shape. Cut it out, then cut out the inside to create a thick candy corn–shaped frame. - Prepare the Sticky Sheet
Cut a piece of clear contact paper slightly larger than your frame. Peel the backing and place it sticky side up on your table. (Tape down the corners to make it easier for kids to work with.) - Stick the Frame On
Stick the candy corn frame down onto the sticky side of the contact paper. - Create the Color Stripes
Have your kids fill the frame using the tissue paper squares:- Top: White
- Middle: Orange
- Bottom: Yellow
Let them overlap and layer for a stained-glass effect.
- Seal the Craft
Once filled in, place another piece of contact paper on top to seal it. Then trim the edges to match the candy corn shape. - Hang It Up
Use string, suction cups, or tape to hang in a window and watch the colors glow!
